ABOUT PEG CROWE FOR WARD 1
Hi, I'm Peg Crowe

Growing up in Malden, my family instilled the value of community service in me from a very young age. I was raised in a strong union household. My grandfather was a member of the Teamsters and served as a Treasurer for the union during the Great Depression. Standing up for working families is a core value driving my work and public service.
As an adult, I was fortunate to be able to purchase my childhood home on Hancock Street, where I still live today.
Through my volunteer work over the years in Malden, I saw the needs in our community and decided to run for office to try to help make a bigger impact. I was elected to the School Committee and now proudly serve as City Councillor for Ward 1.
Professionally, I am the Executive Director of the YWCA Malden. While working my way to that position during 25+ years with the YWCA, I've built strong relationships with the social service organizations and leaders in our region. These relationships help me be an even stronger advocate on the City Council.
As someone who helms a Malden-based non-profit that supports some of our most vulnerable residents, I understand the day to day struggles of our residents very well – affordable housing, overall cost of living, transportation, child care, and much more.
I spend my entire day every day in the City of Malden – living, working, and serving the public. It is a great honor to represent my neighbors on the City Council. I hope I can earn your vote.
